Australian Aborigin
Koalas belong to the class of mammals, hairy, warm-blooded vertebrates, most of whom give birth and nurse their young with milk produced by glands of female skin. The class of mammals has three subclasses: Prototheria, egg-laying mammals represented by the platypus and echidna; Metatheria, mammals packets represented by the marsupials and their distant relatives who are known only from fossils, and Eutheria, placental mammals, like humans. Of these three subclasses, koalas are marsupials and belong to Metatheria. Marsupials are unique among mammals in their mode of reproduction: the gestation period is very short, so that the young are born after birth and remains underdeveloped for many weeks in the maternal pouch and pursue its development. Except for the North American opossum, marsupials are found only in Australia and South America.
Koalas are phalanges, a kind of marsupials whose members are small to medium size with all members having five digits with claws, with the exception of toes white cheeks; phalanges are arboreal and feed on vegetation. Finally, the koalas are phalanges largest and only with pockets that open at the back. medium-sized animals with dense fur and no tail, koalas have a metabolism low and most spend much of their waking time feeding them exclusive, eucalyptus leaves. Koalas have certain preferences localization depends species of eucalyptus, which they normally about five favorites; interesting koalas love mature leaves of eucalyptus mana, but know to avoid young leaves and shoots that contain dangerously high levels of hydrocyanic acid and can kill animals that eat them. Koalas are water they need from the leaves, so they rarely drink, in fact, "koala" is commonly said to mean "do not drink" in the language of Australian aborigines. Slow and helpless for a long period koalas were killed mercilessly for both entertainment and their beautiful soft fur, until Australia passed laws to protect koalas and other countries, such as the United States, prohibits koala fur imports.
Because they look like a bear, (bold, no tail, rounded ears, thick fur), koalas are often mistakenly called "koala"; even their scientific name, Phascolarctos cinereus means' ash bag Grizzlies. " But koalas are not bears, two families of animals belonging to different classes of mammals - as described above, belong to the koalas Metatheria, while bears are Eutherians. The two animals differ in many respects, to name a few we'll look briefly reproduction food and habitat. Unlike koalas, the Bears are placental mammals, which means that their young do not need a bag the end of the gestation period. Regarding eating habits, many bears are carnivores, which is far from vegan koalas. Finally, while koalas live mainly in the southern hemisphere, most bears - with the exception of South America Andean Bear - live in the hemisphere north.
