Region's reputation was growing, especially after the results of the tasting famous wines in Paris in 1976, where judges regarded as Napa Valley Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon better than several famous French labels in a blind tasting format.

Today there are over 200 wineries in the Napa region in California.
