Getting a whiter skin is simple. What is difficult is to maintain the natural glow of the skin over the years. We are all born with baby soft clear and blemish free skin. But different skin conditions like melasma, age spots, acne and pimple marks, tanning due to over exposure of the skin to the sun all leave their mark. So how do get a whiter skin?

First you have to have a lot of patience and second are to have a regular skin care routine. The damage to the skin done over the years cannot be rectified in a few days. But if you religiously follow some kind of skin care rituals, your skin will become rejuvenated.

Skin Care Routine for a Whiter Skin

The first step in your skin care routine should be to avoid direct exposure to the sun. Use a hat and a good quality sun screen lotion. A good sun screen lotion should either absorb or reflect some of the harmful UV ray of the sun. Apply the lotion to all the exposed body part. But this only will help you not get a darkened skin. But if you have already got a tanned skin and would like a fairer complexion what are your options? I will tell you a few simple tips. If you follow them religiously you are bound to notice substantial improvement in your skin tone within a fortnight. If you continue to them regularly you will have a fairer and whiter skin.

1. Take a tea spoon of fresh cream, one teaspoon of turmeric powder and a few drops rose water and juice of half a lemon. Mix thoroughly. Apply the paste evenly to your face. You can increase the proportion and make body mask and apply it to all the exposed part of your body. Rinse off with cold water after about 30 minutes. In fact fresh cream and turmeric can be combined to make a very effective face pack. If you apply this pack regularly to your face, it will remove all the tan and existing blemishes and marks and you will get a glowing face.
2. Take a tablespoon of organic yogurt and mix one tablespoon of chickpea powder. Add a few drops of rose water to make a smooth paste. Apply this to your face and leave it on for 15-30 minutes. Rinse off with cold water.
3. Wiping your face with a cotton ball dipped in chilled milk several times a day improves your complexion.
4. Wiping your face with a cotton ball dipped in rose water not only removes blemishes from your skin, it gives you a whiter skin and removes fine lines and wrinkles.
5. Apply egg white to your face and neck. Leave it on for 15-30 minutes and wipe with a wash cloth dipped in cold water.
6. Splash cold water to your face several times a day.
7. Apply almond oil at bedtime to your face. It will not only remove skin blemishes it will also remove fine lines like crows feet and laughter lines.
8. Apply fresh orange juice or orange pulp to your skin to lighten them. Wash after 30 minutes in cold water.
9. Take vitamin E and Vitamin C as supplements. Both of these are great antioxidants and help in the growth of healthy new cells very necessary for a glowing and whiter skin.
