The phenomenon of using a popular musician in a film is nothing new. After all, one of the first images in sound featuring none other than Al Jolson as the star in The Jazz Singer. In the 80 subsequent years or so, administrators have been bold enough to use stars as unlikely as Art Garfunkel and Tom Waits as the son in their films. Leafing through your satellite TV guide, you are required to meet some of the best marriages the world of cinema and music. Here are five movies that should not be missed.

1. Down By Law. Before Jim Jarmusch veered off course with films like Broken Flowers and The Limits of Control, he has been at the forefront of American independent cinema. This image cast early musicians, not one but two roles main. Tom Waits and John Lurie Roberto Benigni meet the Indians (the Italian comedian who later became famous for La Vita E Bella) in prison all three are railroaded on false charges. This fascinating film benefits enormously casting Jarmusch and can be seen on the Independent Film Channel with a subscription television satellite.

2. The Man with the Golden Arm. Frank Sinatra was the undisputed leader of the world heavyweight champion of the show by the late 1950s and could do almost anything he wanted. Playing the role of a heroin addict in this film seems to be a bit of a challenge to many critics, but Sinatra was the distance, proving his acting ability was equal to his golden voice. 3. Performance. Of all the rock stars who seemed like they could be able to do some acting, Mick Jagger should have topped the list in the 1960s. Nicholas Roeg Donald Cammell and co-directed this movie very experimental and influential with Jagger and James Fox in the lead roles. This resulted in an image so audacious that it was rated "X" and forced Fox - an established British actor - to leave the field for several years struggling with the aftermath. 4. Body of Evidence. Abel Ferrara shooting a movie studio right Course went wrong early on, but Joe Mantegna, Willem Dafoe has played opposite Madonna, in one of his greatest roles. Ferrara taste for pulp obtained as to what could have been a better film, but this picture is certainly worth a look for the Material Girl's solid work.

5. Succeed or die. " life story of 50 Cent is not really a mystery at the time this film has emerged with the Artist lead role, but his acting abilities were certainly unknown. Who knew that "Curtis Jackson could act? Check out this movie on the premium network Satellite TV HBO.
