I can describe the latest version of jazz supergroup Weather Report to you with just one word ... Outstanding!
It is a day extremely I rarely get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I am more than happy to announce that exactly what I have to say about it. There simply is not bad in the bunch. No fillers here at all.
A refreshing beautiful things on this CD is the way all of the participating artists seem to be really fun. Combine that with the entire presentation and you have one Release of Weather Report's most impressive ever.
Overall Mr. Gone is excellent from beginning to end. One of those CDs that after a few listens the songs are just etched into your memory. A must for jazz fans. Really sensational from beginning to end.
Although this CD is outstanding some my favorites are track 2 - River People, track 3 - young and beautiful, and track 8 - And then
My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [... as in "Stuck On Repeat "] is track 1 - The continuation of the woman with the feathered hat. Excellent!
