A spokesman professionals will improve your sound more than any other part of your saxophone. I recommend that the first piece of equipment you buy to improve your sound. Mouthpieces will be available in two types-Jazz and Classical. For reading in general, you want a good classical mouthpiece. These will be the artistic research. They are called hard rubber. There are three excellent mouthpieces I recommend that the prices are reasonable. Rousseau 4R is about $ 70 and is fantastic. The 4R refers to the size of the tip. The Selmer S80 C * is another great spokesperson. It will cost about $ 100 or more. The Rousseau New Classic plays like an S80 with a slightly different. It costs about $ 80.00. I recommend these tips for all saxophones.

Jazz mouthpieces are a bit more complicated. If you play Alto, most people go for a hard rubber mouthpiece rather than metal, which tends to be a bit bright for the viola. If you play a lot of rock music, you may want that gloss. My favorite spokesman for the viola to play jazz in general is the Meyer 6M. It a classic that has been around a long time. I'd probably start here first and foremost for viola.

tenor and baritone saxophones generally prefer a metal mouthpiece. I really like the tenor Otto Link 7 or 6. It has good sound and is very popular. I will not speak here of soprano or baritone, most people start on alto or tenor.

Before you pay big money for a tip, you should always try first. If you have purchased 10 the exact same brand, and tried everything, you will find that they are all different. Always first try and decide which suits you best. Later, you might want to buy a spokesman handmade and enjoy the wonderful sound that comes from there. Be prepared to pay good money for one these!

You'll probably need a different size of reed on your mouthpiece jazz, then you use on your classic. Most people use size little softer on jazz. Also, if you find the mouth feeling funny on your teeth, you can purchase a patch to put the tooth on the beak. It will feel at ease on your front teeth, and protect the spokesman.

If you just started on the saxophone, you really should stick with the piece of classical music. After you are more advanced, you'll probably want a piece of jazz styles. If you are not interested in popular styles of music, you'll not need the piece of jazz. There really is a difference between the two types, and if you plan to play all styles, you will probably need both types of spokespersons.
