Lenny Pickett is best known as the tenor saxophonist of the band of Saturday Night Live, he is a virtuoso of the saxophone Altissimo. Pickett, born in New Mexico in 1954, is competent not only with saxophone, but also on flute and clarinet. He worked as a saxophonist and arranger David Bowie, Talking Heads and Laurie Anderson. As a composer, He was commissioned to write works mixing classical and popular ideas for a variety of ensembles including the New Century Quartet Saxophone.
