Orange County High School of the Arts (OCHSA), colloquially known as "OH-sha" is a public institution of 7 to 12 grade charter school located in downtown Santa Ana, Orange County, California. The school Young students of colleges and high schools with talents in the visual and performing arts, and literature. The education program prepares students of institutions of higher education and / or employment in the arts industry professionals. Both the curriculum and the arts are recognized, prompting the recognition in U.S. News Best High Schools "program.

History
The Orange County High School of the Arts reorganized into a public charter school on April 20, 2000, and moved its main facility at Los Alamitos High School in the Santa Ana Unified School District. OCHSA is a tuition free gift of the school depends public charter governed by a board representing parents, community, educators, and the Santa Ana Unified School District. The school is also supported by the Orange County High School of the Arts Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding costs tuition-free school arts programs and its ongoing expansion plans. The Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit corporation governed by a volunteer board of leading business and cultural leaders. With the development of staff input and guidance the Board of Directors of the Foundation establishes fundraising goals, manages long-term strategic planning, implementing capital school, public relations and marketing campaigns, and oversees the funding criteria. Members pay annual dues, serve on committees fundraising, participate in school activities and serve as ambassadors for the community as a whole.
Academics
The Orange County High School of the Arts offers a rigorous academic program that produces high-achieving, motivated researchers. OCHSA time high school are 8:10 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The middle school schedule is 8:10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
Up 1:30 p.m. each day, students attend university courses OCHSA in a block schedule system with three classes of instruction per day, alternating each day for a total of six classes. Honors classes are offered, as well as many Advanced Placement classes, including AP World History, U.S. AP, AP Physics, AP Statistics, AP Spanish, AP French, AP Literature and Composition, AP Calculus AP language and composition, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP art history, and AP music theory. OCHSA also has a unique selection of electives, including but not limited Acting, Piano, Ceramics, Design Make-Up Graphics, Taekwondo, and photography.
OCHSA the 2008 Academic Performance Index (API) score of 871 listed in the school as one of the first five High schools in Orange County and in the top 10 percent in California.
OCHSA has been named Blue Ribbon school (American education first prize for a particular school) in 2006 by the U.S. Department of Education. OCHSA was one of 250 schools recognized National Blue Ribbon in 2006, among the 35 schools in the State of California and five public schools in Orange County. OCHSA also was named a California Distinguished School.
According to the school, 99% of former OCHSA continue to [citation needed] college. The students must also maintain at least 2.0 GPA to continue participating in their academy of art.
Art Attack Live
Art Attack Live entire 2004-2005
The Live Art Attack "is OCHSA of daily live broadcast on television ads of the day. The show began broadcasting by a group of 4 students of the Film and Television (Jarrett Fein and Michael Nunes, Ryan Wilkinson and Robert Chambers on the technical aspects) conservatory in September 2003.
Today, the crew is composed primarily of students of School Leadership (ASB) class, Film not OCHSA and conservatory television. The program is broadcast from one of the two OCHSA television production studios in direct building technology. Students at the school have the opportunity to audition to become the hosts. This show is filled with creative people who attack art a very interesting and unique OCHSA.
Arts
After 2:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, the school focuses on arts education, which is divided into 11 provisional: Production and Design, Folklrico Ballet, ballet and contemporary dance music, creative writing, film and television, Integrated Arts, Instrumental Music (divided into Classical Instrumental Piano and jazz), music and theater (divided into musical theater, theater, and voice), Opera, and visual arts. Conservatory ends at 4:50 if students can stay later if necessary to repeat or work.
James P. Blaylock, a fiction writer, is director of the Department of Creative Writing at OCHSA. The ministry writer in residence is the award-winning fantasy author Tim Powers. Each month, the academy of creative writing holds a reading.
The instrumental music department has many concerts throughout the year, and at Carnegie Hall in New York in spring 2006. His Symphony Orchestra, directed by Chris Russell, conducted in the Sydney Opera House in the summer of 2008.
The Design and Conservatory to OCHSA designed costumes, lighting, audio, and makeup games for over 125 performances in schools each year. This year it welcomes a new director, Kevin Cook, and many new teachers, including Aaron Kokesch Wally Huntoon, Ray Gibson and Scott Collins.
The biggest event is the campaign OCHSA Annual Final to be held in early June at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. Final recognizes notable seniors graduate, information on each winter, theatrical, and instrumental performances, often in value of high performance parts this year.
collection fund OCHSA Gala is the event of other major, held in the coastal region of Orange County in late March. Gala is a theme fundraiser in which students present OCHSA various protective of their talent. It takes place in a hotel ballroom transformed into a fully-functioning theater in the production and design students. Gala theme for 2009 is "Jubilee of Paris".
Student Life

Because OCHSA is a campus commuter students in 92 cities [citation needed], many students ride Metrolink and Amtrak train service, bus service using OCTA, or carpool with other students.
OCHSA has at least 3 dances each school year: Homecoming (despite a lack of sports teams), Winter Formal and Prom (11 & 12 only). All dances are themed, held at off campus locations, and funded by the Ticket. For the 2006-2007 school year, the school has added a "MORP" or "backwards prom."
Extension OCHSA hours presents a challenge for some students. Most students are to perform their specific art after school and still finds time to finish their homework. Many students find some free time during the week between school work, practice their art education, homework, and travel long distances to reach home. Before and after school and performance, many students visit local restaurants in the village neighbor artists like Gypsy Den or Starbucks.
Campus
OCHSA campus consists of an office tower of seven storeys (formerly a bank) and three buildings that surround it. The main tower bank vault is still in use as a work area for teachers and, sometimes, an octagonal theater.

OCHSA has two campus locations. Symphony Hall, a theater that holds most medium to large OCHSA performance, was once a historic church of Christian Science, before being transformed into a theater. The room contains a theater, a rehearsal room side, rehearsal rooms for instrumental musicians separated, a cellar and library for writers, a front of house sound booth, and a balcony overlooking the auditorium for students in the production and design. It has a balcony booth lighting, etc., several Source Four follow spots, and a continuation Lycian M2 nicknamed "The Spartan Laser. It is an expansion plan Symphony Hall in a parking lot adjacent. The other place on campus is the Black Box Theatre, which holds most of the smaller shows OCHSA.
The walk-in "construction technology" houses of most of the film and television department, the graphics part of the department of visual arts, and some administrative offices. There are two fully equipped studios [citation needed], one primarily for the production of live television and the other for film work. There is also a computer lab and a number of single rooms for video editing. Campus daily student-run television news program, Live Art Attack is broadcast from the television studio and control room adjacent.
Located between the Main Campus and building technology the "totem", a five-storey tower covered with ceramic tiles. It serves as a gathering place for students during breaks and an area loading and unloading.
OCHSA of "Annex" is a combination of two white buildings without windows, connected by a set of ramps called "Cheese maze" or "Star Tours" (as proposed by the Vice-Principal Mike Ciecek). The Annex is home to many dance and singing halls and contains the workshop production and design of production where the games are built and painted OCHSA. The annex also houses the "Harry Potter" room, a creative writing class at the base of the staircase connecting two halves of the building. The room contains a collection of scenarios and books, and stuffed pillows and beanbag chairs.
