The birds listed here are more common than you might find in Arkansas throughout the year. I saw hundreds of pelicans Brown plumped here in one place, but you are not likely to see brown pelicans here because it was a one day event and they were gone when I came back in less than an hour. I do not know how they got here and I do not know why they came.
The the list is in alphabetical order instead of being arranged in groups. Remember that birds vary according to habitat. For example: Ducks will always be found near water. The more water, more ducks there could be. Geese prefer to graze and get water nearby. They are more likely to be found in open fields, preferably GRAIN fields. In Arkansas, you never really know what type of housing you see in the next ten miles. Will it wetland, open field, plain, hill, mountain, valley, stream, river, pond, lake or a meadow. It's a good thing. You will not get bored not in Arkansas.
